who says you can't put your arms around a memory? i've somehow managed to not scrap my LIS4L track, so hopefully it'll see the light of day. but i'm recording it on a new program, and also for the first time all by my lonly's. there's somehow big gaps in the song that i can't shrink, so i;m trying to incorporate them. this song could either be very interesting, or a train wreck. actually it is a train wreck, wether or not it is and interesting train wreck is the key.
the tom waits show is good to just click on the stream while venturing out into the web world. they say you can download it, but i think it's one long track, sounds like a project for bj!
i like how my music segment on love falls on Christmas week. of corse valentines day is a good one too, but i've already cornered the market.
what did you think of it?
p.s. this first love, is he the looker? embarrassing pics for you and him, handy??(my vol.3 poster is my version)

no embarrassing pics sorry john (not to hand - i have some in canberra but not sure where i put them so i wouldn't find them!). the ones of 'the looker' were all purged because i knew if i looked at them i would never get over him. though obviously if i went out with the first one i thought he was alright too!

i really liked your bit for NPR - you came across really well and explained the songs perfectly - and of course i think it was a really interesting selection. you're definitely not predictable! is that NATIONAL public radio? there was something very comforting about it, not sure how else to describe it.

you all have a lovely time with whoever you spend it with (john, you sound like action is aplenty, and leo i can imagine the kids are all set and driving you nuts!). to anyone else reading, do it justice.

national public radio, it's our version of the bbc. bush's admin tried really hard to keep a handle on the coverage, but now we hope they'll get back into critical reporting.
i'm glad u like my piece. i had a lot of fun. it was the first time i ever got to be on the radio for just being me, i wasn't doing a thing for a new record, etc. i could just be myself. i told a story for every song, but they cut it all down to a few sentences for each song. they said they really liked my stories and wished they could air it all, but it's got fit into the slot. i'm surprised at what they kept. most everyone else just talked about how the song is played, not what the song means to them personally. i honestly didn't know that before i went there. they put in parts about love stories but not all. it's funny, they kept the sentences "i tend to stay in relationships longer than i should" and "i probably take more abuse than i should" but took out the story so there's no real context. hilarious. there is someone out there that would be pissed as hell if she heard this broadcasted out to everyone.

are you kinda hoping she did hear it??!!

it didn't cross my mind at the time, but when i heard the edited version it did. the whole interview thing was like 20 min. and they cut my sound bytes down to like a minute or two, and the stuff they kept seemed to focus on that, but really i only talked about moments w/her for a minute, but the whole conversation wasn't. but i don't mind. i've always wished that she would have remorse, but it just isn't gonna happen.
