ride on

in the beginning we would have swaps planned out for a few months ahead and try to send them out during the month in question, but that was kinda a mess, so now we mostly send out our discs about 10 days before the end of the month. (graeme i'll send you an email of addresses) and usually about now we think up a next swap, which i don't really know whats going on for april since cydde's going to be away, but i'm not going anyplace. april is rainy time here so i'll be inside a lot. so if anyone wants to cook up something. i also might put together another anthology mix i like to do (past ones include superchunk, rolling stones, starkiller/phantom family halo, songs ohia/magnolia electric co., daimien jurado, i forget the others but if your interested in any of those, no prob). so who's a dmx fan now?
(i'm glad the winter is starting to retreat, sorry cydde. happy new apt. greame. welcome teeny. also, i'm a metal worker now.)

in honor of the release of BEWARE, our mystery member, jeffrey, wrote a feature on will oldham that is nice. how does the record stack up? i haven't heard it.

is everybody ok with data discs? i made a couple of playlists and figured i could put it all on one disc (along with my letter because i don't have a printer and it drives me fucking crazy).

i haven't picked up a copy yet, i might do that today! i did read jeffrey lee's article though. i watched the vid on pitchfork the other day and thought it was funny just watching him walk the streets. was that louisville?

not louisville. i think southern california. i heard a few more songs on NPR, there is so many instruments this time around.
my packages are off into the world, and yours, cydde, should get to you in time for the big adventure. i did 2 mixes, one 'hit the road' mix on the act and fun of driving, and one on the act of leaving. (the first was inspired by a cydde mix, so there may be a couple songs we've already swapped before, but worth revisiting).
i also added a 2006 louisville compilation that never really got released called CHURCHES, BANKS, AND BARS. my copy says 'road trip' across it because it is a great highway companion. it's more proof that louisville is brimming with talent that mostly goes unnoticed. so 3 mixes from me, enjoy!

The Paradiso in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is hosting a spectacular music event: Bonnie 'Prince' Billy will be playing a live concert on 23-04-2009!
