empty nest

it's been a crazy insane week, full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and now it's all done. and i have no job and nothing to look forward to. last week we had an event everyday, and it all went really well, except for the last one, the venue were jerks and pretty much did everything they could to run us out (including turning off the heat so it was freezing in there).
but everyone is enjoying the album, and thank you thank you to jeffrey lee (the only one to review it) for the many wonderful comments( including that perhaps something good has come from my endless self pity). so now it's on to the next thing, whatever that may be. i hope you all are well and survived valentine's day without too many bruises.

weird bruises post-valentines! well done on the release john, i still believe it's one of the best out of the whole 9 volumes. having listened to the bonus i also think you made all the right decisions to put the songs on the main release.

i haven't sent anything this year. i am wondering if we are going to ramp up again and have a theme? i think i need to put my mind to it (though all my music is still packed away).

i have 3 people i wanna ask to join, keeping in mind that we are thinking about doing the sign up for each swap. we can have them check it out and decide. we should have a new post up for them (welcoming/explaining 1st swap) so it kinda makes sense. the people are folks who have written me about the comp, and swapped some things with (is that cheating? if so, it never happened, and it was just past bonus disc material). it would be a red coat (brit) a german, and either/or NYC or Georgia (the u.s. georgia). i will just email 'em tomorrow. i always get nervous and puss out/ it's like asking someone on a date. it took me awhile to get up the gumption ask you, way back when! (so, cydde, whadda ya think? plan for march? got a swap in mind?)

march: yes, because i won't be around in april. leo, i'll be heading towards your neck of the woods!

theme: something like "out in nature" or songs about cars & the open road?

i've been wanting to put together a 'motorcycle meets the street' mix for jamming on the bike. so i think i can come up with something.
that idea came to me one day when i was driving around trying to cheer up personal morale listening to ipod file 'cydde songs' and the echo chamber- ann arbor, heavy trash- justine alright, and cave's-deanna played in a row, and i thought 'i need a whole soundtrack for motorcycle ridding!'
deanna makes me so happy. one of those songs i've played regularly since i was 15, and never get sick of.
that would be a good mix too.
so, speaking of Leo, i got the JSBX live in Belgium disc yesterday, and played it as i read the news, which was all about the Schiphol crash.
a weird coincidence. a sad moment.
the only thing i brought back from my last trip to E.U. was a picture of me standing in schiphol. it was right around the start of the war, and security was fucked. so the airport had people dressed up as Geisha's walking around giving people back rubs and talking to children. and one looked at me and took a Polaroid of me standing by myself and put a "schiphol international!" sticker on it and gave it to me. i don't know why. my mom still has it on the fridge. i miss the netherlands. people are happier there. cydde you should spend some good quality time up there.
